Learning Log 2

In every organization, strong security must be always present to prevent data or information lost. Last week I've learned many concepts and sayings that will help me and to my future companies and family to be secured at all times. Passwords are most commonly used authentication yet the weakest type of it. It really bothers me how the weakest are the most widely used in the world. Passwords must be change every time and we must put a strong and long combination on it to prevent the hackers or to make the proccess long for them to crack.

Another thing is that we should always check on the contract on our work about Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP). It is the rule in which where, when or how to use the resources from the company.

Third thing is that I've learned that the strongest way to kill a human, oh sorry, to delete a document/device is to dispose and destroy it. I agree to this because destroying it piece by piece like your ex or house wrecker is the best thing to do. Kidding.

Last but not the least is that in Social Engineering, there is what they call "Wetware Problem" or that the humans are the weakest link in security chain. Basically humans have emotions and that emotions are being used also by their fellow humans to manipulate their emotions maybe for temporary or for long term. That's why most cases here in the Philippines have "budol-budol gang" in which they will talk to you and you're not already aware on your surroundings.

Security should always be present and must be strong at all times since we don't know what will happen to us or to our technology. Everyone should have a knowledge on basic security for them to be aware on inside and outside of our world.
